Alina Timshina
Alina Timshina is a 1st-year Environmental Engineering PhD student in the Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure & Environment. Previously, she completed a BFA in Painting and a BS in Environmental Engineering at the University of Florida. Alina’s current research focuses on tracking per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in environmental media and waste streams, with the objective of helping to develop best management practices for waste containing PFAS. In the future, Alina is interested in exploring the intersections between scientific and conceptual art research and finding novel ways to foster communication between academia and the broader public.
